What is Cosplay?

Cosplay is a Japanese oriented activity that has migrated to America over the years. It is a shorten term for "costume play" and it entales a person, or a group of people to dress up as characters from an anime, manga, video game or at times more Americanized characters from cartoons and comic books. Cosplaying is very popular during events like cons (conventions; i.e. Metrocon, Sakuracon, etc.) Many people attend these cons and take pictures of their favorite characters and there are contests held on a person's costume. But cosplaying is not limited to at conventions, you can wear a cosplaying costume at anytime! You might get funny looks out in the regluar public, but it's fun to see people's reactions. And there is a little explanation of what cosplaying is.
